Hi!!

I’m Alise, mom of 3, self taught cake decorator and owner operator of Coastal Crumb (CT), a local non-GMO micro bakery located in Branford.

Just over 10 years ago I learned to decorate cakes and grew to love baking. After having my first baby I needed a creative outlet to balance my time home with an infant. I got lost in baking videos at night and dreamed of baking beautiful cakes every day. I started small, baking just for my daughter’s early milestones and gradually built the confidence to bake for family and a small network of friends. The more I baked the more I grew to love it. That small hobby slowly grew into dreams of a small business.

After a few years I returned to work and began juggling those dreams, early motherhood and a corporate schedule before I inevitably conceded to burnout. Around the same time a career change for my husband brought us to Connecticut and revived my dreams of baking. Now six years into our life on the shoreline , 2 kids more than we arrived with I am so eager to embrace baking again.
